Question 1

What is a Registered Agent?

Accepted Answer

A Registered Agent is a designated individual or company authorized to receive legal documents, government correspondence, and service of process on behalf of your business entity. Most states require every registered business to maintain a Registered Agent with a physical address in the state of formation.

Question 2

What is an LLC?

Accepted Answer

A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a U.S. business structure that combines the limited liability protection of a corporation with the tax flexibility of a partnership. It separates personal and business assets and is the most common entity choice for small businesses.

Question 3

How long do filings take?

Accepted Answer

Ross & Associates typically prepares filings within 24 business hours of receiving complete information. Actual state processing times vary — most states process between 3 and 15 business days. Expedited filing is available in many jurisdictions.

Question 4

What is BOI Filing?

Accepted Answer

U.S.-created entities are exempt from FinCEN BOI reporting. Only certain foreign-country entities registered in the United States may report, subject to exemptions. Another U.S. state or foreign ownership does not change domestic formation. Staff eligibility review is required; see https://www.fincen.gov/boi/ifr-qa.

Question 5

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Service fees are refundable up until preparation work begins on your filing. Once a filing has been prepared or submitted to a state agency, fees become non-refundable. State filing fees, once paid to a government agency, are non-refundable under any circumstance.

Question 6

What are my ongoing compliance responsibilities?

Accepted Answer

Most entities must maintain a Registered Agent, file annual or biennial reports, pay franchise taxes (where applicable), keep accurate records, and verify any actual reporting obligation. U.S.-created entities are BOI-exempt. Our Compliance Plans monitor and handle these obligations on your behalf.

Question 7

Can you form a business in any state?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ross & Associates files entities in all 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C., and we provide statutory Registered Agent service nationwide.

Question 8

Do you serve foreign owners?
